Spring is in the Air

Lori Adams

Can you feel it?

Can you see it?

Can you smell it?

Can you hear it?

Spring is in the air

The last 3 days have been absolutely gorgeous. Now, I live in Texas, so that could change on a dime.....can I get an amen? Either way, the calendar officially told us that yesterday, March 20th was the first day of spring.

There's something so hopeful, alive and refreshing about spring, isn't there? The weather is gradually warming up, and at times, it's the perfect temperature. Trees are starting to blossom, grass is turning green, and is it just me, or do the birds seem to sing a little louder?

People in general seem happier.

My husband and I made a trip to Sam's Club the other day, and they had all their outdoor items front and center as we entered. There was a section that had a variety of plants and large bags of potting soil. As we walked by, I could smell the potting soil ever so strongly. I was amazed how that smell stirred up so many wonderful memories. It's just like the Lord, our Creator, to use our senses in such a powerful way.

So many memories can be triggered by our five senses....ONLY GOD!

Seasons come and go!

It is the same in our walk with the Lord. God's Word tells us, for EVERYTHING there is a season. Some seasons are better than others. Some seasons wreak havoc on our lives and we are desperate for the next season to come. At other times, we have seasons that are so amazing we never want them to end. The reality is, we have no control whatsoever in the changing of seasons. That control remains eternally in the mighty sovereign hand of God. Here's another reality, every season has meaning and purpose, and even though seasons change, our God remains the same!

Hallelujah!

I don't know what kind of season you are currently in, but God is faithful! You must believe that! There is nothing that takes Him by surprise. Don't miss what the Lord is wanting to do in your current season. His plans and purposes might not make sense now, but you must have faith that He is bigger than your earthly and limited perspective.

If everything God did in our lives made sense, there would be no need for trust and faith.

Take time in this beautiful season of spring to enjoy God's creation. Let it fill you with hope and joy. And as you watch things come back to life and colors brighten the landscape, have faith that God is in control no matter what! He promises to complete the work He has started!
