So far, 2020 has been an interesting year, to say the least.
I started thinking about how 2020 was the year everyone was saying it was going to be the year of "perfect vision". A year where our eyes would see clearly what was ahead. And starting three months in, it's proven far from perfect or clear by any means. It's completely blurry and unknown.
We've all been sideswiped by this invisible enemy. And life, as we know it, has become completely foreign.
There's another enemy out there, that is lurking and just as deadly and invisible as the coronavirus; and it is SIN!
Let's think about the similarities between the two:
They infect us
They can be deadly
They wreak havoc on our lives
They cause "symptoms" and "sickness" (sinful behavior)
They cause "social distancing" from others, including God
You get the idea
Now, the one difference between sin and the coronavirus is that with sin, we are ALL infected.
We were born with it. And it's not just a "behavior" problem, it's at the very nature of who we are.
Romans 3:23
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
Romans 5:12
"When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam's sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned."
There is a lot of mystery surrounding the coronavirus. Many are scrambling to find a cure and implement preventive measures. Some will work and some will fail. We have no guarantee. However, that is not the case with SIN.
Ready for some GOOD NEWS?
There is a CURE for SIN......
HIS NAME IS JESUS!
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Romans 10:9-10
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
When we humbly cry out and repent before God, all of a sudden, things become clear. There is no more darkness, only light. Hope arises and we recognize we were really never in control and were always in need of a Savior.
Jesus heals, cleanses, and redeems us from the deadly snare of sin. Life is new, and we never have to fear the unknown, because we know the ONE Who knows it all!
THANK YOU JESUS!
